Sustainable Development Goal 3 of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development is to “ensure healthy lives and promoting well-being for all at all ages”. TThe associated targets aim to reduce the global maternal mortality ratio; end preventable deaths of newborns and children; end the epidemics of AIDS, tuberculosis, malaria and other communicable diseases; reduce mortality from non-communicable diseases; strengthen the prevention and treatment of substance abuse; halve the number of deaths and injuries from road traffic accidents; ensure universal access to sexual and reproductive health-care services; achieve universal health coverage; and reduce the number of deaths and illnesses from hazardous chemicals and pollution.

ITPLN Cares for Mental Health

Jakarta, 27 March 2022 – Institut Teknologi PLN (ITPLN) through the RELASI (Volunteer Consultation) programme, IT PLN briefed 8 selected students and one representative of the Ministry of Student Resource Development (PSDM), as well as the Ministry of Women’s Empowerment BEM KBM IT PLN.

The debriefing was conducted in 2 (two) sessions, in the Lecturer Canteen Room on the 2nd floor of IT PLN. The first session was held on Saturday, 26 March 2022, at 08.30 – 15.00 WIB. In the first session, RELASI candidates passed the pre-test, then were given a briefing on Self Characteristics Vs Counsellors, Basic Knowledge and Skills of Peer Counselors, and ended with an evaluation by giving Worksheets I & II (Discussion and Questions and Answers). Followed by the second session on Sunday, 27 March 2022 from 09.00 – 15.00 WIB at the same location, Participants were given a briefing on ‘How to Become a Peer Counselor’ equipped with how Counselling Techniques, then evaluated through Worksheets III & IV (Discussion Together). Before starting the practice of the theories that have been given, participants are invited to play Art Therapy, namely My Scret Box first, the hope is that through this Art Therapy it can be useful as healing so that it makes the participants more relaxed and comfortable. The second session was closed with Peer Counselling Practice one by one, with cases that have been prepared by the Presentation Team (NOBEL Development Center – Consulting). Selected students will later carry out their duties as Peer Counsellors in the IT PLN campus environment and collaborate with the Ministry of KBEM IT PLN.

With the increasing form of Student Counselling Services (BKMK) at IT PLN, it is hoped that students will increasingly understand their goals and adjust to their learning environment so that they can develop their potential optimally, dynamically and constructively.
